World of Tanks has teamed up with Swedish metal band Sabaton, whose lyrics are filled with military themes, for a music video that will be featured in the game’s latest update. The song, titled “The Art of War”, will be available to download for free for all players on January 12, the day the update goes live. It will also be available to listen to on the game’s official website, iTunes, Spotify, Google Play, and other platforms.
World of Tanks and Sabaton, a Swedish power metal band, have teamed up to create a music video and in-game event! The team is delighted to announce the release of the collaboration music track “Ghost Division” as a single and as a music video, as well as a World of Tanks event, “Ghost Division: The Operational Briefing”. Sabaton will be releasing a new album titled Heroes, and we can expect a few Sabaton tracks to be featured in the event. Some of Sabaton’s tracks will be available as in-game rewards for players, and we hope you will enjoy playing and listening to their music!
“We are Swedish metal band Sabaton, and we are very happy to be part of the Wargaming world. We are very thankful for the opportunity to collaborate on World of Tanks and for our fans to enjoy our new music video with the game.”
It’s time for World of Tanks and a band to team up once again to combine online vehicle combat with music. In a similar spirit to the game’s cooperation with Korn, Sabaton, a Swedish metal band, will be featured in both an in-game event and a music video in World of Warcraft: The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.
Spirit of War is an in-game event that requires players to complete challenges in order to win a premium Tier IX Strv K tank crewed by Sabaton members. This one-of-a-kind tank includes features including per-battle boosts to Credits and Crew XP, the ability to earn Bonds (which is usually reserved for Tier X tanks), and an earnable 3-D style that gives the tank a distinctive Sabaton soundtrack and distinguishing effects.
While the tank is the ultimate prize in the Spirit of War event, there is still something for those who don’t fulfill the grind criteria to unlock it, as each unlocked level of the event will offer a 10% discount for buying the Strv K, in addition to various extra goodies. The notion that a Tier IX tank is for sale has sparked a lot of discussion on Reddit, especially in light of Wargaming’s monetization controversy in World of Warships.
The game’s website has full information on the event, and a special music video starring Sabaton can be seen below.
