Here we are 7 tapes deep with Victoria ex-pats Babysitter (damn you Montreal!) and they still manage to serve up some super fresh shred. The echo of their previous LP Eye, a seminal piece of Victoriana, is a welcome layer of reverb that underlays some of their finest songwriting so far (I mean we all “swim in shit” somehow or another). Where Eye was the result of a master craftsman (Jordan Koop at The Noise Floor) shedding some light on Babysitter’s basement sounds, Tape 7 is the sound they made while stepping back into the shadows where they feel more at home. Pop this one in the deck and turn up the hiss.
